Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai Movie Review: RADHE

Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai Review {2.0/5} and Review Rating

A Salman Khan film is special. Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai – directed by Prabhu Deva – is in the news for various reasons. First and foremost, this is Salman Khan’s film and he has worked with Prabhu Deva again. Plus, the hybrid release that everyone is watching, even more so within the film fraternity.

Movie Review: Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai

Let’s start with the plot, without revealing spoilers…

Radhe tells the story of an honest cop – Radhe [Salman Khan] Those who want to get rid of the problem of drug addiction in the city. Drug Lord – Rana [Randeep Hooda] – is ruthless and kills anyone and everyone who crosses his path. Radhe and Rana come face to face at regular intervals. Will Radhe put an end to Rana’s nefarious antics?

Based on the South Korean crime drama The Outlaws, Radhe is based on a cliched plot and predictable situations, but relies entirely on Salman’s star power to hide the shortcomings. Viewers can speculate as to what will happen next, but the fast-paced narrative with some stylishly executed action pieces will keep you hooked.

Radhe has had her share of hiccups. Salman and Disha’s romance looks tremendous. Same goes for Jackie Shroff’s track, which could have been done with some exciting moments. If the intention was to keep the character light, no, it doesn’t really work.

Director Prabhu Deva has been assigned an oft-repeated storyline and can’t do much. The clash between Salman and Randeep shows the expertise of the director, as do the sequences between Salman and Azaan, but such moments are rare. The latter, in particular, could have been done with some interesting twists and turns. Plus, after a while, it really feels like the writers have run out of ideas. The climax is arresting, but we have seen far better and more thrilling action-packed endings in Salman’s films in the past.

Salman Khan: “Radhe’s Wanted, Yeh Wanted Has Nothing To Do With Baap Hai”

Salman Khan is furious and it is his presence that keeps you engaged in the proceedings despite the shortcomings. He is in great form, but sadly, the writing doesn’t do justice to his stardom. Randeep Hooda is dangerous and puts up a solid performance.

Disha Patani looks good, but her appearance is purely decorative. Jackie Shroff is funny initially, but after a point his parts don’t really work. The rest of the actors are inactive.

The soundtrack is a plus. However, the two best tracks – ‘Seeti Maar’ and the title song – are reserved for the latter part. While the former is already popular, the title track is energetic.

The cinematography captures the mood of the film well. The action sequences – though well executed – turn out to be bloody and brutal at times.

Overall, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai is a Salman Khan show. There are some big moments in the film, which would have attracted ample number of viewers especially on the single screen. However, the cliched plot and predictable proceedings act as speed breakers. Radhe is strictly for the fans of Salman Khan.
